Macon County is poised to have the Tax Sale at the Macon County Courthouse parking lot, (picture) adhering to the 6 feet rule between persons. Although the Tax Sale remains the same date, we will monitor the governmental laws and follow accordingly. The Sale may be outside the courthouse to adhere to all the restrictions set by our state government. We are asking all participants that attend to wear a mask or covering around their mouth and nose. Since it will be outside, participants should be prepared for weather conditions, hopefully only mild heat. Tentatively, we will distribute forms to winning bidders the next day at the Revenue Commissioner’s office (210 N. Elm St.) however, only one person at a time will be permitted. It will be ‘first come first served’. While we anticipate a smooth tax sale, we are monitoring the situation (Covid-19) very carefully. Stay safe. Stay healthy.
Our Tax Sale is still scheduled for April 21st., beginning approximately at 9am although there are governmental restrictions that we must adhere to for compliance.
